Constructing the Grip
The paddle length was determined and
the grip pieces glued to the shaft. The
asymmetrical pear grip requires
additional thickness to the shaft, as
evident by the additional middle strip of
walnut. I found it more convenient to
mark the outline of the grip before I
glued the blocks.

The sides of the grip were cut
first, then the front and back
of the grip marked and cut.
A little bit of sanding, rasp work and scraping, make the grip take shape.
